INTRODUCTION

Entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy. Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small businesses started by entrepreneurially minded individuals, many of whom go on to create big businesses. Many experienced business people political leaders, economists, and educators believe that fostering a robust entrepreneurial culture will maximize individual and collective economic and social success on a local, national, and global scale. It is with this in mind that The Toyota Kenya Foundation through the Toyota Kenya Academy was developed: to prepare youth and adults to succeed in an entrepreneurial economy.

Upon completion of the course, the Trainees have the interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and applied business skills that are required for successful careers or business setup with regional, national and international agribusiness industries and the firms and organizations that support those industries

The training methods are participatory and action-oriented using real life examples in value chains whilst enabling participants to have a holistic understanding of the environment, the innovative opportunities, constraints and practical business models.
